Anya Taylor-Joy is the half English and the other half Spanish daughter of Dennis Alan Taylor who was a banker in his former profession and Jennifer Marina Joy. Her father, an Argentinean of Scottish and English roots is her maternal grandmother. Her mother is Spanish-English. Taylor-Joy, who is youngest of five children. Four of them come from her father's previous marriage. They lived in Buenos Aires until she was six years old, and then moved to the Victoria area in London. Taylor-Joy claims that the move into London was difficult and that she didn't study English in order to prevent returning to Argentina. Hill House had to be her new school after she moved from Northlands. Then she went to Queen's Gate School, where she took dance classes and was a part in shows. When she was 16, she left the school in order to focus in acting full-time. From a young age Taylor-Joy knew that she wanted to work as an actress. her dreams came true when she was offered a modeling job from Sarah Doukas the founder of Storm Management.
